EL PASO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
El Paso Electric Company ("EPE") (NYSE: EE) set a new native system peak
of 1,871 MW, which is 4.3% or 77 MW higher than the peak established in
2015. Although it will take time to verify, it appears that EPE has
exceeded the June 23, 2016 record peak this week. EPE has set a new
native peak in 11 out of the last 12 years.
El Paso Electric is a regional electric utility providing generation,
transmission and distribution service to approximately 400,000 retail
and wholesale customers in a 10,000 square mile area of the Rio Grande
valley in west Texas and southern New Mexico. El Paso Electric has a net
dependable generating capability of 1,990 MW.
